When somebody asks why you are doing this and you hear yourself say money, you will know that is not a wrong answer, it is an incomplete one. The chain always ends at money. The question is what sits underneath it, and whether that thing will be in the room on the bad night.
When the motivation goes and you start reading that as evidence about yourself, you will know to check the direction of your purpose before you check your character. A purpose above you pulls. A purpose below you drags, and it feels identical to being lazy.
When you are deciding whether the money is for a bag or for a person, you will know which one of those two survives a hard year, and that you already have the evidence, because nobody in the room took a billion dollars for their eyes.
Two versions of that person are waiting a year from now and you are choosing between them today. One missed three classes and could not do the assignment. Somebody called about a picnic at the weekend and he went, came back, understood nothing. He would rather scroll for hours than practice, and he will tell you he was motivated at the start and the motivation went away. The other looks back at today and says thank you for showing up. You will be one of those two, and the difference is not talent and it is not luck.
Money is the pocket problem. And if the problems of the heart and the mind are not solved, how do you expect to solve the pocket?
That is why the heart gets fixed first, then the mind. Then, trust me, the pocket will follow.
