## What we teach right now

Three programs are open: AI QA Automation (SDET), Playwright Automation with AI, Agentic QA for Professionals. The first is a 6-month career-change program taught live by the founder. The other two are short upskill programs for people already working in QA or development.

- AI QA Automation (SDET) — Become an Agentic QA Engineer in 6 months, starting from zero, with career support until you are hired.
- Who it is for: Career changers with no tech background.
- Length: 6 months. Recorded lessons during the week, then a 4-hour live class on Sundays taught by Kuzzat Altay. Plan for 15 to 20 hours a week.
- Next cohort: SDET-US046, starts October 24, 2026.
- Page: https://cydeo.com/agentic-qa-sdet

- Playwright Automation with AI — Playwright, CI/CD and AI prompt engineering for people already in QA or development.
- Who it is for: Working QA professionals and developers who already write code.
- Length: 6 weeks. Studio-recorded lessons on your own schedule plus one live session a week. About 7 hours a week for 6 weeks.
- Next cohort: JSP-21, starts October 19, 2026.
- Page: https://cydeo.com/programs/playwright

- Agentic QA for Professionals — Build and operate a real agentic testing framework (Playwright and MCP) against a real banking app in 4 weeks.
- Who it is for: Working SDETs and QA engineers.
- Length: 4 weeks. Live cohort on Thursdays and Fridays for 4 weeks, plus Wednesday interview-prep sessions.
- Next cohort: AQ-03, starts October 1, 2026.

## How pricing works

You pay while you learn. The career-change program is billed monthly during the program, or as one upfront payment; the program page also states a monthly plan after you are hired. The two upskill programs are one payment each. No processing fees. No income-share agreement. Prices below are live, from the same source as checkout.

- AI QA Automation (SDET): $500 a month for 8 months ($4,000 during the program), or $4,000 upfront.
- Playwright Automation with AI: $699, one payment.
- Agentic QA for Professionals: $1,299, one payment.

Live numbers as of 2026-09-17, read from the same source as checkout. Prices change in one place (Stripe); the program page and checkout always show the current number.

Alumni pricing exists for the upskill programs and is shown at checkout after an email lookup.

## The honest numbers

60% of graduates are placed. That is CYDEO's own count and the number it uses everywhere; how it is counted is not published yet. The career-change program has a 60-day money-back guarantee: start the program, do the work, and get a full refund within 60 days if it is not the right fit.

- AI QA Automation (SDET): 60-day money-back guarantee: start the program, do the work, and get a full refund within 60 days if it is not the right fit.
- Playwright Automation with AI: 101% money-back guarantee: complete the 6-week program and do the work; if it was not worth it, CYDEO refunds 101% of tuition.

15 named graduate stories are published at https://cydeo.com/blog/category/student-stories (latest 2026-03-02).

117 Google reviews are republished at https://cydeo.com/wall-of-love, 117 of them five stars. It is a set CYDEO chose to republish, not an independent average.

## Changes since 2025

Some descriptions of CYDEO are out of date. Each item below says what was true, what is true now, and the date it changed. A closed program must not be presented as available.

- 2026-02-16 — Was: Older descriptions of CYDEO mention an income-share agreement (ISA) or "zero upfront" pricing. Now: Not offered. The current cydeo.com, live since 2026-02-16, has never sold an income-share agreement. Students pay a monthly plan during the program, or one upfront payment.

## Words we use

One definition per term, the same on every page.

- Agentic QA Engineer: Also called AI QA Engineer: the next step from the SDET role. An engineer who writes automated tests and uses AI tools to build, test and validate software faster. CYDEO trains this role.
- SDET: Software Development Engineer in Test: an engineer who writes automated tests that check whether software works correctly, so bugs are caught before customers see them.
- Playwright: An open-source framework for automating a browser and writing end-to-end tests. Both CYDEO programs teach it.
- Live cohort: A group of students who start and finish a program together on a schedule, with live classes taught by an instructor, not self-paced videos.
- Intro class: A free recorded class at https://cydeo.com/watch/sdet that shows how CYDEO teaches. It opens with a first name and an email address.
- T1: The label checkout uses for the monthly payment plan: installments paid during the program.

## Questions people ask

These answers are the program pages’ own FAQ, word for word.

**Do I need any tech experience?**

No. We start from zero. Previous students include stay-at-home parents, retail workers, delivery drivers, restaurant workers, and military veterans. If you can use a computer, you can start this program.

**What’s the refund policy?**

60-day money-back guarantee. Start the program. Do the work. If it’s not the right fit, get a full refund within 60 days. That’s two full months to decide — completely risk-free.

**How much time do I need per week?**

Plan for 15–20 hours per week. Many students work full-time while in the program. You’ll watch pre-recorded lessons during the week at your own pace, then attend a 4-hour live class on Sundays led by Kuzzat. You’ll also need time for assignments and practice.

**What is an AI QA Engineer? Is that different from an SDET?**

An AI QA Engineer is the next evolution of the SDET role. Traditional SDETs write automated tests. AI QA Engineers do that AND use AI tools to build, test, and validate software faster. Companies like Apple, Google, and TikTok are hiring for this role right now — and paying 15–40% more than traditional QA positions. Our program trains you for both: you master traditional SDET skills first, then learn the AI skills that unlock the higher-paying roles.

**Why not just learn Playwright from YouTube or the official docs?**

You can. The Playwright documentation is genuinely excellent, and YouTube has solid free courses. If you’re highly self-disciplined and finish self-paced courses, those are legitimate options. Here’s what the data shows: MIT researchers found a consistent 96% dropout rate across online courses over six years. Udemy’s own data shows 70% of enrolled students never start the course they bought. This program gives you a cohort that starts and finishes together, weekly live sessions with instructor access, and structured deadlines. If you’ve successfully completed self-paced courses before, you may not need this. If you’ve bought courses and not finished them, this program is designed for that pattern.

**I use Java/Selenium. Will my experience transfer?**

More than you’d expect. Locator strategies, page object patterns, assertions, waits, and test architecture all transfer directly. The syntax changes, but the mental model doesn’t. Module 1 covers JavaScript fundamentals specifically for engineers coming from other languages. By Module 2, you’ll notice how Playwright simplifies patterns that required workarounds in Selenium: auto-waiting replaces explicit waits, built-in selectors replace third-party strategies, and the Playwright Inspector provides debugging Selenium doesn’t have. The biggest adjustment is usually async/await — the curriculum addresses this in Week 1.

**What if I’ve never used TypeScript or JavaScript?**

Module 1 is a dedicated JavaScript week for exactly this. You need programming experience in some language (Java, Python, C#). If you’ve written automated tests in any framework, you have the foundation. You start writing Playwright tests in JavaScript, then transition to TypeScript in Module 5. If you’ve never written code in any language, this isn’t the right starting point — consider CYDEO’s SDET program instead.

**How much time per week? I’m working full-time.**

Seven hours per week for six weeks. Watch studio-recorded lessons on your schedule (5–6 hours), then attend one live session per week (1–1.5 hours) for Q&A and code review. Live sessions are recorded if you miss one. Most students fit this into evenings and weekends.
