The Market Shift

Playwright Has Already Overtaken Selenium in the Metrics That Matter

Enterprise migration is accelerating

Zenjob cut test execution time by 80% after migrating from Selenium. Zoopla measured individual tests running 264% faster — and more reliably. Fortune 500 companies now using Playwright include Amazon, Walmart, Apple, IBM, Microsoft, and NVIDIA. Typical migration takes 4–8 months. Most teams start with high-value regression suites and expand from there.

AI is changing what QA work looks like

72% of QA professionals already use AI for test case and script generation. Microsoft built an official MCP server for Playwright that connects AI agents directly to live browser sessions. This program teaches both Playwright and the AI skills that make you faster with it.

Why Structured Training

You Can Learn Playwright for Free. Most People Who Try Don't Finish.

Module 1Week 1

JavaScript Essentials for Automation Testing

JavaScriptES6+Node.js

If your background is Java and Selenium, JavaScript will feel unfamiliar at first. This module covers the parts that matter for Playwright: variables, control flow, functions, arrays, OOP, and async patterns — promises and async/await especially. AI tools are introduced here to help you write and debug code faster. The goal is to get you functional in the language before the automation work starts.

Module 2Weeks 2–3

Playwright Fundamentals

PlaywrightTest RunnerSelectorsAssertionsPage Object ModelAuto-waiting

Your first week working directly with Playwright. You’ll install and configure it, write your first test functions, work with locators and browsers, organize tests into groups, and manage hooks and environment variables. AI prompt engineering is introduced as a practical tool for writing tests faster. By the end of the week, the basics are solid.

Module 3Week 4

Advanced Playwright Techniques

API TestingNetwork InterceptionVisual TestingMulti-browserFixturesTrace Viewer

Assertions, iframes, alerts, mouse actions, web tables, authentication flows, file uploads and downloads — this is where you work through the scenarios that come up constantly in real projects. AI prompt engineering techniques are used here to work through user stories and handle edge cases more efficiently.

Module 4Week 5

Running Playwright with CI/CD Integration

JenkinsGitHub ActionsCucumberBDDGitDocker

Automation that only runs locally isn’t doing its job. You’ll integrate Playwright into Jenkins and GitHub Actions, configure build jobs, manage environment variables securely, generate test reports, and run tests across different environments. TDD and BDD approaches are both covered so you can work within whatever workflow your team uses.

Module 5Week 6AI MODULE

Mastering Playwright with TypeScript + AI

TypeScriptAI Prompt EngineeringGitHub CopilotMCPRefactoring

This final module brings it together — Playwright at depth, with TypeScript, inside a BDD framework. You’ll work through advanced real-world scenarios and consolidate everything from the previous weeks. By the end, you’re not transitioning from Selenium anymore. You’re a Playwright engineer.

What you need before starting:

  • Basic programming experience in any language (comfortable with functions, loops, conditional logic)
  • Software automation testing knowledge (you’ve written automated tests before, in any framework)
  • Working understanding of Git (clone, commit, push, pull, branching)

This is not a beginner program. If you've never written code or automated a test, start with CYDEO's AI QA Automation (SDET) program instead.

Who Teaches This Program

Muzong, Playwright Instructor

Muhtar Mahmut

Senior Test Automation Architect

6 years of experience in teaching test automation. Taught Java Selenium to more than 5,000 students in North America and Europe. Taught 15 cohorts of Playwright Automation with AI to more than 1,400 students.

Muhtar is not an academic teaching philosophy of test automation. He teaches you how to build a Playwright automation framework from the ground up so you can look awesome at work.

Built on CYDEO's 10-Year Training Methodology

CYDEO has trained 14,000+ tech professionals across 36 countries. Our SDET and Cybersecurity programs are full career-change programs for beginners. This Playwright program is different — it's built for professionals who already have technical foundations and need focused, efficient skill acquisition.

We built this program because our graduates and working QA professionals kept asking for advanced Playwright training. The instructor brings the real-world depth this audience needs.
